Long time no see- right? I finally started going through our Honeymoon photos. Mostly because I needed a mental break from my fashion life. It's been non stop since I got back. My closing of my brick and mortar store hasn't slowed down demand at the online store and taking on small batches of wholesale orders has been fantastic, but it's keeping me very very busy. So I'm getting back on track with Hawaii week. It'll be nice to take a trip down memory lane. Honestly, looking through these pics makes me smile. We had such a great time.
We went to Hawaii with the help of friends, family, and a service called Honeyfund. If you're getting hitched and are a little strapped for the Honeymoon I highly recommend Honeyfund. It's very easy to set up and super easy for your friends and family to use. We honestly couldn't have gone on a Honeymoon at all if it wasn't for the generosity of our family and friends. After spending a magical week there we vowed to return every year.
Thanks to my awesome brother in law, Larry and his family we were able to hang out in a guest house for a few days before we hit our hotel at Waikiki Beach. We were blessed with the use of a car from a friend of Larry's who had never met us before. I had my first experience driving around Oahu which at times was scary, but I think it was the most fun I've had in a long time- even with the mega sunburn I acquired. It was like everywhere we went people were kind and gracious and full of tips on great local places.
My mission is clear; become a pseudo-famous designer or just an all around badass so I can retire there and take most of my friends with me.
Until then I will dig through our pics in anticipation our next trip. I hear that August is a good time to purchase flights. I have broken up the week into different topics per day since I took so many pictures. Topics will be:
1. food (because uhhh we like to eat, especially on vacay- no apologies)
2. beach and beach bodies (I shall reveal my beach bod and my thoughts on big girl beach issues)
3. art (I'm a nerd for art no matter what city I'm in)
4 & 5. being an epic tourist (no shame in our tourist game, some places we visited)
I hope maybe you will feel a little stress break as well looking at these pics. Below I have included a mash-up of places we went and some of my favorite flowers and plants. Seriously- everything grows there! If I lived there, I don't think I would be a plant killer like I am in the desert.
